Biography
Michael Aldana is a visual artist and instructor who primarily works with oil and acrylic paint, but is skilled in various media. He is from New Orleans, Louisiana, and currently works in the New Orleans region, both in creating artwork and as an instructor at local universities and colleges. Aldana received his BA from Southeastern Louisiana University and later earned his MFA from the Memphis College of Art in 2009. Aldana’s work previously revolved around his Louisiana heritage and culture. His works dealt with the interdependent existence of land and culture and how the exploitation and erosion of one causes the same in the other. Currently Aldana’s work deals with the inner workings anxiety, agoraphobia, and dysphoria.
