Takei: I was born in New York city and was raised in the
Tokyo area. I studied painting, drawing and printmaking in Boston. Presently,
I live in Brussels, Belgium and am making prints. I am interested in people's
body expressions. I enjoy drawing from memory and putting characters in
every day situations. At first my mother taught me how to draw. Some of
my late prints have come from these childhood memories.
