The Crescent Box is an unofficial symbol of the city of New Orleans. This unique meter lid design has been embraced by New Orleanians for years. One day, walking in the French Quarter, I walked over one of these and thought to myself that it would make a great design for a clock face. It took me a while to get around to making these, however I'm glad I have. I began production of these clocks in 2009, while the designs were created in 2008. Each one is unique. None of these are slip cast. Each one is hand pressed into a unique mold and then I add the individual elements that makes each one special. They are low fired, glazed and enameled with gold, copper, or metallic red. Hands match the predominant color of the metallic enamel on the lettering. I add the hands and quartz movements (motors) as each one is ordered. I test each one to make sure they work properly before I send them out. Custom designs and glazes may be made for an additional cost, however you must email me and we will discuss the details. Each clock is approximately 11 inches wide and are between 1 and 1 1/2 inches wide from the side. The clocks are hung with a wire placed into ceramic eye holes located on the rear of the clock.
